Overview
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Autica, including our mobile app and website at autica.io.
By creating an account or using Autica, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who can use Autica
To use Autica, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be located in the United States
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Not have been previously banned or removed from Autica
Autica is designed for parents and caregivers of autistic children. It is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 13 to create an account.
Your account
When you create an Autica account, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and truthful information
- Keeping your password secure and confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
You may not share your account or create multiple accounts for the same person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Autica only for its intended purpose — supporting parents of autistic children. You must not:
- Use Autica for any unlawful purpose or in violation of federal, state, or local law
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Post false, misleading, or harmful medical or therapeutic advice
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from Autica without written permission
- Advertise or solicit other users without our consent
- Impersonate any person, organization, or healthcare provider
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
Your content
You own the content you create in Autica — your journal entries, tracker logs, and child profile data belong to you. By posting content in community areas, you grant Autica a limited, non-exclusive license to display that content to other community members as part of the service.
You are responsible for ensuring any content you post does not violate the rights of others or these Terms. We do not claim ownership of your personal data.
You can export or delete your content at any time from Settings → Privacy in the app.
Community rules
Autica's Circles are designed to be safe, supportive, and judgment-free. When participating, you agree to:
- Treat other parents with kindness and respect, even when you disagree
- Not share another user's private information without their consent
- Not post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or offensive
- Not promote specific therapies, products, or services in a way that could mislead other parents
- Report content that appears to violate these rules rather than engaging with it
We reserve the right to remove content or suspend users who violate community standards.
Disclaimers
Autica is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
- Any information in the app is medically accurate or suitable for your child's specific situation
- Results from using the service will meet your expectations
Autica is a support and guidance tool for parents — not a substitute for professional medical, therapeutic, or psychological advice. Always work with qualified professionals on your child's care plan.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Autica and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Autica shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50.
Termination
You may stop using Autica and delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy → Delete account.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you:
- Violate these Terms or our community rules
- Engage in conduct that could harm other users or the platform
- Use Autica in a fraudulent or unlawful manner
On termination, your right to use Autica ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and intellectual property — remain in effect.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll let you know by:
- Emailing your registered address at least 14 days before the change takes effect
- Showing a notice in the app
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
Continuing to use Autica after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, you may delete your account before the effective date.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Autica is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
