Overview
Autica is a platform for parents and caregivers of autistic children, based in the United States. We take privacy seriously — especially because many of our users share sensitive information about their children and families.
This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language because we believe privacy policies should be readable, not legal obstacles.

Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: Companies that help us operate Autica, such as Firebase for data storage. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it to deliver services to us.
- Community features: If you post in Circles, your display name and post content are visible to other members. You control what you share.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or others.
- Business transfer: If Autica is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer. We will notify you beforehand and give you the option to delete your account.
Children's privacy
Autica is designed for parents and caregivers — not for children themselves. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an Autica account.
Child profile data such as names, ages, and milestones is entered by parents to personalize their own experience. This data is associated with the parent's account and treated with the same protections as all personal data.
We do not use child profile data for advertising, analytics sold to third parties, or any purpose beyond personalizing the parent's experience within Autica.
Your rights
You have meaningful control over your data. As a US-based service, we honor the following rights for all users:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and your child's profile
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information at any time from your account settings
- Deletion: Request that we delete your account and all associated data
- Export: Download your tracker data in a portable format
- Opt out: Unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have additional rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your data, but you may still submit a request.
- Other state laws: Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with privacy laws may have similar rights. Contact us and we will honor them.
To exercise any of these rights, go to Settings → Privacy in the app, or email info@autica.io. We respond to all requests within 45 days as required by applicable law.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your profile and child data are deleted within 30 days
- Community posts you've made may remain, attributed to "Deleted user," unless you request their removal
- Anonymized aggregated analytics data is retained but cannot identify you
- We may retain minimal records for legal compliance for up to 7 years, as required by US law
Security
We protect your information using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS) via Firebase's infrastructure, encryption at rest on Google Cloud servers, and authentication handled by Firebase Authentication. Access to user data is limited to authorized team members only.
No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at info@autica.io.
Policy changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by:
- Sending an email to your registered address
- Showing an in-app notification
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
Your continued use of Autica after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy. If you don't agree, you can delete your account at any time.
